With roots in Mexico and Colombia, their passion for food was shaped by generations of culinary artisans. Determined to share these rich flavors, they embarked on a journey that started right here in Central Florida.

A Vision for Excellence: The Growth of Don Julio Restaurant Group
In 2014, Florencio and Patricia opened their first restaurant, Don Julio Mexican Kitchen & Tequila Bar, in Orlando’s Chickasaw area. Their mission was clear: offer genuine Latin American cuisine with the welcoming service their heritage is known for.



Each restaurant tells its own story while staying true to the group’s commitment to authenticity and innovation.
Honoring Tradition, Embracing Innovation
At the core of their philosophy is the belief that tradition and innovation go hand in hand. Don Julio Mexican Kitchen & Tequila Bar continues to honor family recipes, including those passed down from Florencio’s grandmother, Doña Pepa.
At the same time, they embrace new culinary ideas, such as the Ceviche Bar, introduced in 2019, which quickly became a local favorite. This balance of heritage and modern trends sets Don Julio Restaurant Group apart in a competitive dining landscape.

Originally from Guanajuato, Mexico, Florencio was raised in the United States, where he learned the values of hard work, perseverance, and giving back—values that continue to guide his leadership today.
Together, Florencio and Patricia foster an inspiring workplace, encouraging their employees to dream big and achieve their goals. Their impact extends beyond the kitchen, as they actively give back to the Central Florida community while raising their three children.
